Pretty delicious soup. It's a little expensive but very hearty for the rainy weather.
One of my favsss I always go here when I'm in federal way. Service is always quick and every worker is so friendly! Food is 10/10. so delicious. Sometimes waits can be long, but today there was no wait and we were seated quickly! Very cute setting too!
Love their Seolleongtang per usual and will continue to return for this soup. This review is for their new dish Yukgaejang. The taste was mainly spiciness and bean sprouts heavy more than the beef stock. There was less meat given compared their seolleongtang soups.
Solid choice for classic Korean Seolleongtang. Small restaurant at the end of a strip mall, clean but modest setup. If you're looking for beef rib seolleongtang, they don't have that here, they're known for the brisket which was tasty. Portion size was good, but less than Big Pot down the street. Homemade Dumpling soup, steamed dumplings, spicy beef, and spicy beef tofu rounded out our meal. Their radish and kimchi were delicious. The service was good and attentive. Hit the spot on a cold winter day!
Visited Yi's again on a rainy and chilly day. Food: We ordered brisket #1 and mixed #3 seolleongtang. 6 pieces of steamed dumplings. Food arrived at a prompt manner with radish and kimchi on the side. They are just how I like them. Add salt & pepper to cater towards one's preference. Service: Attentive service on a weekend evening. The server came to check if we needed more sides. The servers were friendly! Ambiance: Comfortable dining. Great for conversations over a meal with friends and family.
One of my favorite places when I crave soup that isn't too heavy on my stomach. Their mixed beef soup is my favorite item on this menu, aside from the kimchi which comes with the soup. The staff are all sweet and helpful and the environment is cozy. The place overall is clean and never too busy. There is free parking, just the turn into this alley where the restaurant is located is a bit small.
A piece of Korea can be found here! Finding this little gem in Federal Way was certainly a nice surprise. I drove here twice from downtown Seattle and it was worth the drive. The soup reminded me of the finest seollungtang that I've had in Korea. Its milky rich broth coats your tongue and mouth and leaves you craving for more. I recommend asking for extra green onions!!! Their Mandoo that's made in house is something that SHOULD be ordered, its meat pockets are full of flavor that's sure to get your senses going. If you're a green onion fan - this is your kind of mandoo. The staff here are warm and inviting, it wasn't just a one off too - I came here twice and both times I received phenomenal service. They sensed that I enjoyed their kimchi and without me having to ask for more - voila, they brought more. Their Kimchi is really flavorful, it doesn't smell sour or foul - but more fruity and fresh. It was delicious and it's made in house. I highly recommend this place - you won't regret it!
Pros: authenticity, good quality broth, very delicious, waiting staff is helpful and courteous. Cons: menu selection seems small. Maybe it is for the best since they can focus on what they do well. Slightly pricy (to me)
Tldr: this is the place for soups Environment: there's enough booths, and the ambience was nice. Its not loud with music so u could come here to talk with friends and family. Service: the people are very nice, explained everything since we all have never been to this restaurant or had anything similar. That's also signs along the wall that explains their specialty soup in detail. Food: I tried their specialty traditional soup. It's really good, you know it's been boiling for a while when u see the milky color in the soup. It makes me very aware of my salt intake though. Don't be afraid to add more salt or you won't enjoy your food. There are other seasoned soups here as well if u don't want to know how much salt is in your soup compared to most people. Also the dumplings are heavenly. The dumplings are a must order every visit.
Every other traditional Korean beef soup I've tried has been THROWN out of the water by Yi's. Catapulted. Into outer space. Came for weekend lunch, and there was a small waitlist. We waited for about 5-10 min? So not too bad We ordered the brisket seolleongtang and a seafood pancake. The SOUP omg. The milkiest, most flavorful broth I've ever had. Noodles, beef, and rice are pretty normal/average. Kimchi is apparently made in house. I really enjoyed the radish kimchi. Seafood pancake was not as crispy as we would've liked, but seems like it was a consistency issue. I took leftovers back and popped it in the airfryer to make it extra crispy, and it was def better. Service was okay! It was really busy and there were only 2 servers running around. So it was a bit difficult getting things like more tea, to-go boxes, etc. but otherwise, they were super friendly! Amazing place! Would definitely come again just for that good soup.
